WFN members Upcargo Logistics in Panama recently completed a challenging project shipment, discharging and ground transport of a tug boat, bridge cabin and accessories. Lizy Mendoza told WFN more:

Port Reception: The First Step in the Value Chain
The logistics process began at the Port of Cristóbal (Panama), where our highly skilled team managed the receipt of the cargo. An inspection of the area was conducted to ensure that the space was suitable, and the port crane was prepared with the appropriate capacity for cargo mobilization. Additionally, a safety plan was established to protect both workers and the cargo, a crucial step to avoid potential damage and ensure a smooth process.
Discharging from 40′ FR and Loading on Low-Bed Trailer
The discharge of the “Tug Boat Bridge Cabin” was carried out with utmost precision, minimizing risks and ensuring the integrity of the cargo.
Ground Transport on Special Equipment
The loading was performed on a low-bed trailer in a secure and efficient manner to minimize vibrations during transport.
Escort and Route Study: Ensuring Safety and Efficiency
Safety is a priority for us in the transportation of special cargoes. Therefore, we conducted a thorough route study to identify potential obstacles and plan solutions to minimize risks. We also provided escort services to ensure that the cargo reached its destination without incidents, complying with all current regulations and standards.
